GRANOLA BAR

Granola bars are a great snack for on the go. You can use them as a breakfast bar, mid morning snack or a sweet treat with a coffee. Cram them full of whatever bits you prefer and with this easy condensed milk recipe they are effortlessly easy.

rolled oats (250g)
mix of nuts, dried fruit and seeds that you like (350g)
E.g. Pecans / Almonds / Hazelnuts / Walnuts / Pumpkin seeds / Sunflower seeds / Sultanas / Raisins / Cranberries / Apricots
1 tin of condensed milk (397g)
small knob of butter, melted (40g)
pinch of ginger/cinnamon/mixed spice (optional)

Process:
preheat an oven to 175°C.
dump all of the dried ingredients into a big mixing bowl, halving any of the larger nuts.
scrape out the contents of the condensed milk tin and stir into the mixture with the melted butter.
add the pinch of mixed spice if you’re using it.
line a 20cm x 20xm baking tin with greaseproof.
spoon all the mix into the tin, press down into all the corners and bake for half an hour.
allow to cook completely before turning it out onto a chopping board and hacking it up in chunky granola bas!

Makes 12 bars
